3 Jamaican tourist spots you MAY not know about!

The Falls, the resorts...if you've been to Jamaica chances are you've seen a little bit of both.  But what about places that perhaps you've not been to?

1.  Martha Brae River - Montego Bay, Jamaica

Martha Brae River is a lazy river that winds it's way along the shade giving trees about 20 miles from Montego Bay and 40 miles from Ocho Rios along Jamaica's North Coast.   And to guide you along this mystical river are licensed raft captains that will expertly transport you.   The "raft" itself is a 30 foot long bamboo vessel that strongly supports all on board.   You get to kick back and take in the sights in this 3 mile 1 hour journey as the raft captain will point out features along the way.

The cost is around $110 to $125 but this also includes round trip transportation to and from your local hotel and a complimentary drink!    For more info check out these guys at, Jamaica Rafting.

2.  Blue Hole Mineral Springs - Negril, Jamaica

Wanna check out a big giant hole in Jamaica?  You're in luck!  Located just Southeast of Negril by 20 mins and it's basically, a big mineral hole in the ground!    You can stand at the rim and jump in if you dare or watch the locals show you how it's done instead.   There's a ladder you can climb down and chill in these waters.   Past visitors rave about the cool guys working there, the good reggae they play and the memories.

It only cost around $7 bucks to use the springs but you might find yourself enjoying food, drink and tipping the locals for their diving shows, but that's up to you.  For more info:  Blue Hole in Jamaica Blog.

3.  Hooves Horse Riding Tours - Ochos Rios, Jamaica

Here's your chance to ride a Jamaican horse in the hills of Jamaica or even right on the beach (and in the water)!  Who would not want to try that?  There's a cool group called Hooves that was started in the 90's by a Jamaican and his English wife where they rescue horses and they come to retire and please the tourists that come.  The entire event takes about 4 hours including free local transportation.   Time on the horse?  About 2.5 hours and depending on costs you can do it from $90 per person.   Also available to purchase, photos of you on that beast and drinks to keep you cool.

To check out these guys visit them at their website:  Hooves in Jamaica.
